The signature Nosara evening is dinner on the sand at Playa Pelada. La Luna serves Mediterranean-leaning plates right on the beach with the best sunset table in town, while Bar Olga's next door is the barefoot local institution for a cold beer and fried fish as the sky goes orange. Pacífico Azul rounds out the cove. Arrive before sunset for a table in high season — none of them takes the view for granted, and neither should you.
Playa Guiones eats like the yoga town it is. Luv Burger does an all-plant-based menu, Go Juice and Beach Blend Coffee handle the smoothie-and-açaí-bowl mornings, and Destiny Café and Café Social keep the laptop-and-latte crowd fed. Between surf sessions you can eat well here without ever seeing a fryer — though the fish tacos are always close by if you want them.
For casados, gallo pinto and fish plates at local prices, head to the sodas: Rosi's Soda Tica is the Guiones classic for a post-surf casado, Soda Vanessa and Rancho Tico serve Nosara town, and Chicharronera La Nosareña does pork the traditional Guanacaste way. Eating at sodas is the single best way to keep your food budget sane in Nosara — and the portions do not mess around.
Nosara has a serious Italian bench: Il Basilico and La Dolce Vita for classic trattoria dinners, Il Pepperoni and Lili's Pizza for wood-fired pies, Posada Margherita for pasta near the beach, and Guiones Brew Co & Oli's Pizza for a craft beer with your margherita. Le Bistrot Guiones adds a French accent if the mood shifts mid-week.
Sushi Mar rolls fresh local catch; La Brasa grills Argentinian cuts; Chancho BBQ smokes American-style barbecue; Gaelic Fish and Chips does exactly what it says; and Arepa's Ceviche covers the Venezuelan-Costa Rican corner. K-Rae's Black Sheep and Al Chile keep the bar-and-grill side lively, and the food court at Gabi's Play gathers several kitchens in one stop for indecisive groups.
Fifteen minutes south, the fishing village of Playa Garza is where the boats actually land. Soda Garza puts simple fish plates on the beach, and several captains will hand your morning catch to a kitchen that cooks it for dinner — ask when you book a charter with the local fleet. It is the shortest supply chain on this coast.
The weekly Nosara Farmers Market (La Feria) near Guiones gathers organic growers, Esh Bakery's sourdough, kombucha brewers and prepared-food stands — go hungry, leave stocked. Local makers like Organic Nosara and Nakedfoods sell direct through the week, and the app's private chefs will bring the restaurant to your villa for a group dinner.

La feria semanal de Nosara (La Feria) cerca de Guiones reúne productores orgánicos, la masa madre de Esh Bakery, elaboradores de kombucha y puestos de comida preparada — vaya con hambre. Productores como Organic Nosara y Nakedfoods venden directo entre semana, y los chefs privados de la app llevan el restaurante a su villa para una cena de grupo.
